Éclat Cosmetics — Quebec French QA & Rebuild

Brand name has been changed for privacy reasons.

Challenge

An indie cosmetics brand had a French storefront but it was a rough machine translation — awkward phrasing, inconsistent terminology, and English leaking into key product pages. Bounce rate on the French storefront was 74%, and the brand was losing trust with Quebec customers before they even reached the cart.

Solution

Full French QA audit of the existing storefront. Rewrote all customer-facing copy in natural Quebec French, standardized beauty terminology across 32 SKUs, fixed Shopify Markets configuration errors, and rebuilt the French SEO meta structure. Added Bill 96-compliant policy language.

Result

French storefront bounce rate dropped from 74% to 41% within 45 days. Add-to-cart rate on French product pages improved by 2.3x. The brand's Quebec revenue doubled in the following quarter.
